The statewide MyCase portal is the main free tool for searching Morgan County traffic court records. You can search by name, case number, or Uniform Traffic Ticket number without logging in. Results include the charge, upcoming court dates, case status, and any fine or judgment entered. Both the Circuit Court and Superior Court in Morgan County are in the MyCase system.

The Morgan County official website also links to court resources and the traffic division. The county traffic division page describes local procedures for paying and contesting tickets. This page is a useful companion to MyCase, especially if you want to understand what options are available before you contact the Clerk's Office directly.

One thing to know: Morgan County has both a county court system and a separate Martinsville City Court. The court that handles your ticket depends on where the violation happened and which officer issued it. Check the bottom of your ticket for the court name. If it says Martinsville City Court, the payment and hearing process is different from the county court process. Getting to the right court first saves time and avoids confusion.

Note: MyCase covers the county courts, not necessarily the Martinsville City Court. If your case is in city court, contact that court directly for case information.

Morgan County Clerk of Courts - Contact Details

Clerk Stephanie Campbell manages the Morgan County Clerk's Office at 10 E. Washington Street, Room 103, Martinsville, IN 46151. The main phone is 765-342-1025 and the fax is 765-342-1015. The traffic division line is also 765-342-1025. Staff there handle the official records for all cases filed in the Circuit and Superior courts, including every traffic infraction and misdemeanor that goes through the county system.

Circuit Court Judge Matthew R. Hanson and Superior Court Judge Peter J. Pappas preside over the two courts. If you have a question specific to one judge's courtroom, ask the Clerk's Office to transfer you or give you the direct extension. General payment questions and case lookups can usually be handled through the main Clerk line.

The Martinsville City Court information page on the county website explains how city court operates. It is a separate court with its own procedures, and it handles violations that occur within Martinsville city limits.

Paying a Morgan County Traffic Ticket

Morgan County makes clear that the court you pay depends on which court issued your ticket. This is an important point. Paying the wrong court will not resolve your case. Look at the bottom of your traffic ticket. The court name printed there tells you where to pay. If it says the county court, you pay through the Clerk's Office or online through the county payment link. If it says Martinsville City Court, you use a different system entirely.

For Martinsville City Court payments, you can pay by phone at 765-342-1259 during Monday through Thursday business hours, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. A 24-hour automated phone payment line is also available at 1-866-480-8552. Online payments for city court cases go through paygov.us. These options are separate from the county court system and only apply if your ticket came from Martinsville City Court.

For county court tickets, in-person payment is accepted at the Clerk's Office at 10 E. Washington Street, Room 103. The statewide Indiana Courts ePay system may also cover some county cases. Under Indiana Code 34-28-5, paying an infraction before your court date is treated as an admission of the violation. If you want to contest, do not pay. Appear on your court date and deny the charge.

Note: New tickets may take five to seven business days to appear in MyCase after the officer files the citation with the county court.

Traffic Laws and the Morgan County Court Process

Morgan County is part of Judicial District 13, which also includes Clay, Hendricks, and Putnam counties. That designation affects some administrative groupings but does not change how local cases are filed or managed. Your traffic case stays in the Morgan County court that received the ticket.

Traffic infractions under Indiana Code Title 9 are civil matters in Indiana. That means an infraction judgment does not create a criminal record. It does affect your BMV driving record, which tracks points and can lead to license consequences if violations pile up. Misdemeanor and felony traffic charges, like operating while intoxicated or habitual traffic violation designations, go through the criminal process and carry different and heavier consequences. Check the front of your ticket to see the case type code, which will tell you whether your case is an infraction, a misdemeanor, or something more serious.
